About HydraFacial

Hydrafacial treatment is the latest patented technology for skin rejuvenation offered exclusively at Nitai Medical and Cosmetic Centre.

It cleanses, extracts and hydrates the skin to effectively solve hyperpigmentation, sun damage, acne and other major skin concerns.

The Hydrafacial super serum is made up of nourishing ingredients that offer an instantly glowing skin in 3 simple steps:

  • Cleanse & Peel: Gently exfoliate the skin to remove the dead, dull top layer of skin and reveal the new layer of healthy skin. The skin looks brighter and pores are unclogged. This process stimulates collagen production
  • Extract & Hydrate: Deep cleans the pores via painless suction. Nourishes the skin with intense moisturizer which further rejuvenates the skin
  • Fuse & Protect: “Booster” Serums, peptides and antioxidants are applied to the skin for a facial to maximize the glow of the skin. These natural ingredients effectively reduce the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores and dull skin.

The patented vacuum technology and serums combined with the spiral design of the hydro peel device tips create a vortex effect to effectively flush out the impurities and rejuvenate the skin.

Hydrafacial treatment first loosens and opens the pores. Then, a mix of salicylic acid, glycolic acid and multiple botanical ingredients is used to prep the skin for optimum cleansing.

After the pores open up, the medical practitioner uses the vacuum-powered extraction device to flush out the oil, dirt and debris clogged inside the pores.

Hydrafacial is entirely non-invasive and painless with no downtime; you could go back to your routine almost immediately post-treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can you expect after treatment?

You will likely see results immediately after treatment and your skin may feel smooth and hydrated for one to four weeks with appropriate home care to maintain treatment results.

Skin is more susceptible to sunburn/sun damage. Avoid excessive sun exposure and use a minimum of SPF 40 sunscreen.

Are there any side effects of Hydrafacial Treatment?

The skin may experience temporary irritation, tightness, or redness. These are all normal reactions that typically resolve within 72 hours depending on skin sensitivity.

You may experience tingling and stinging in the treatment area. These sensations generally subside within a few hours.

Can I have a HydraFacial treatment if I am allergic to Shellfish?

Because there is Glucosamine HCl (or HCL) in Activ-4 Skin Solution, there is a very slight chance of having a shellfish allergic reaction if you are topically allergic to shellfish (crab, lobster, or shrimp).

The percentage of Glucosamine in the ingredient blend is less than 1%. It may not cause an allergic reaction at all, but we highly recommend doing a patch test first and/or ask a physician prior to performing the treatment.

Use BetaHD for Step 1 Exfoliation.

Our highly experienced Skin doctor first asks if you have allergic conditions and then conducts a detailed skin examination before recommending appropriate treatment.

Can I have a HydraFacial if I am allergic to Aspirin?

Our GlySal and Beta-HD products contain Salicylic which is an ingredient found within Aspirin.

There are numerous Acne OTC products or cosmetics containing SA at the same or higher level as we do, and none of them cautions their users.

If in doubt, try a patch test on the skin and look for a visual reaction

Use Activ4 for Extractions instead.

Skip Step 2 Peel or apply optional Glycolic peel.

Our highly experienced Skin doctor first asks if you have allergic conditions and then conducts a detailed skin examination before recommending appropriate treatment.

Can men get HydraFacial?

Absolutely. HydraFacial is suitable for men and women. Clinicians can tailor the treatment to facial hair, skin thickness and specific concerns common in male skin (oiliness, ingrown hairs, acne).

What is a HydraFacial?

HydraFacial is a non-invasive, multi-step skin treatment that simultaneously cleanses, exfoliates, extracts impurities with gentle vacuum suction and infuses the skin with hydrating serums, antioxidants and peptides to improve tone, texture and hydration. The procedure uses specialised tips and so-called “vortex”/fusion technology to remove debris and deliver serums.

What are the main steps of the treatment?

The typical three-step approach is:

  1. Cleanse & peel — gentle chemical exfoliation (often glycolic/salicylic blends) to loosen dead skin.
  2. Extract & hydrate — painless suction to remove oil/debris and deliver moisturising serums.
  3. Fuse & protect — application of booster serums (antioxidants, peptides) to nourish and protect.

How long does a HydraFacial take?

Most HydraFacial sessions are quick — typically 30–45 minutes for a single treatment session. Additonal packages with added peels, LED, or boosters may take up to 60 minutes. This makes it a popular “lunchtime” treatment.

Is the treatment painful?

No. Most patients describe minimal to no pain. The extraction stage uses gentle suction rather than manual squeezing; some people feel mild suctioning, tingling or temporary warmth. Nitai also describes the treatment as painless and non-invasive.

When will I see results, and how long do they last?

Many clients notice an immediate “glow” and improvement in hydration, tone and texture right after treatment. Visible improvements typically last several weeks — commonly 4–6 weeks — with the immediate glow often most noticeable for the first week. For sustained improvement (fine lines, pigmentation, acne control), monthly maintenance sessions are frequently recommended.

Can I have a HydraFacial if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

Many clinics prefer to avoid certain peels/boosters containing retinoids or strong acids during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Always tell your practitioner if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding — they can tailor or postpone the treatment. Some centres avoid the treatment entirely until after pregnancy.

How should I prepare before treatment?

Typical pre-treatment advice: avoid aggressive exfoliation, waxing or sun exposure for several days; stop retinoids/strong actives as advised by your clinician (often 3–7 days prior for stronger actives); disclose medications (especially isotretinoin); arrive with minimal makeup. Follow the Nitai pre-treatment checklist your clinician provides.

Aftercare — what should I avoid?

Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning beds and harsh exfoliants for 48–72 hours. Use gentle cleansers, avoid hot saunas/steam and postpone intense workouts for 24 hours if you have sensitivity. Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen and hydrate skin as recommended. You can usually resume makeup the same day unless advised otherwise.

Is HydraFacial suitable for all skin types (including sensitive skin)?

In general, HydraFacial can be adjusted to suit most skin types, including normal, dry, oily, combination and sensitive skin, as the acid strength and suction level are customised. However, active inflammatory conditions or recent procedures may make treatment inadvisable until cleared by a clinician.

Can HydraFacial be combined with other treatments (e.g., lasers, dermal enhancements, microneedling)?

Yes. Many clinics combine HydraFacial with LED therapy, light chemical peels, microneedling, or certain laser sessions. Detailed consultation with your treating clinician is essential to plan safe sequencing and maximise results.

Can it help with enlarged pores and blackheads?

Yes. The vortex suction extraction combined with hydrating and clarifying serums helps remove oil and debris from pores, reducing the appearance of enlarged pores and blackheads immediately and with repeated treatments.
