Hyperhidrosis is defined as excessive sweating outside the ‘normal’ needs of the body. Nitai Medical & Cosmetic Centre specialises in Hyperhidrosis treatment.

Excessive sweating can affect the palms, soles, underarms, face, scalp and upper lip. Hyperhidrosis is very common affecting 1-2% of the population.

Antiwrinkle injections can be used to stop excessive sweating. The most common area to be treated is the underarm. It works by stopping nerve conduction to the sweat glands.

Topical local anesthetic is applied to the area to make the procedure more comfortable.

Minors starch-iodine test is performed on the area to be treated. Iodine is first applied to the area. This area is allowed to sweat for a while then starch is applied. The sweaty area then highlights in black. These areas can be injected with the antiwrinkle injection. This allows us to use the product only in areas affected, minimising product wastage.

Generally, 100 units of antiwrinkle injections is used for the underarms. Palms/Soles are more unpredictable, for which 50-100 units may be required.

Normally the cost of treatment is: 100 units for $1000, plus the cost of topical anaesthetic cream : $50. We currently have a Special offer for $950.
